Home Loan Document Checklist
As much as we try to make things simple, home loans mean paperwork. Lots of paperwork!
Here’s a checklist of the documents you will need ready before you apply for a home loan.
The sooner you have them all together, the faster we can progress your loan.
Essential Documents
The following documentation is required when submitting an application to a financier. From this information we are able to assess your lending requirements and approach the financier that best suits your situation. Please provide copies of:
- Your 2 most recent payslips. (If self-employed, provide full personal and business tax returns for the last 2 years)
- PAYG group certificates or tax assessments for the last 2 years
- The purchase contract
- Bank statements from your savings account for the last 3 months
- Bank statements from your “day to day” account for the last 4 months
- Bank statements from all current loan accounts for the last 6 months
- Your most recent credit card or store account statement (if applicable)
- Medicare Card, Birth certificate or passport (for identification purposes)
- Drivers licence (for identification purposes)
- Statements for any other investments (shares, debentures etc)
- Centrelink statement of benefits (if applicable)
Additional Documents For Refinancing Your Loan
Extra documentation is required for refinancing your existing loan:
- Bank statements from your current mortgage loan account for the last 6 months
- Your last rates notice
Additional Documents For Investment Properties
Extra documentation is required for an investment property loan:
- Letter from the property manager regarding the expected rental income
- Copies of bank statements from all current loan accounts for the last 6 months
